Paul presented to the Centre for the Study of Agribusiness Business Luncheon Series (Marcus Oldham College) on the future of technology and data in agriculture, including a value chain map of a proposed data platform system. The key points were:

  • There are enormous possibilities in agriculture from drones and data in particular.

  • That we need to think strategically about creating a data platform that farmer cooperatives, private companies and researchers can all use to create a new wave of innovation.

  • That farmers should treat data as a product from their farms and gain control of the new value that will be created.

  • That there are ways for investment in the overall system that can push implementation towards easily used utility services.

As usual our presentations are designed to be an experience for those that attend and do not contain lots of detail (we hate bullet points on PowerPoint with a passion). If you are interested in an online meeting presentation with an overview to see if the presentation might work for your organisation then contact us and we will contact you to arrange a short version via Go To Meeting

If you hover your mouse above the bottom section of the presentation on the Right Hand Side after you have clicked on the play arrow it will give you the option for change to a full screen where you can clearly see all the detail.
